CVS has a high level of involvement in public health issues and have been looking for new ways to improve their disinfection protocols. The CVS Health Enterprise Response and Resiliency, as well as Infectious Disease Response teams, have been putting forth efforts to combat the COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic. CVS follows the Center for Disease Control (CDC) protocols and guidelines regarding cleaning and is implementing SteraMist™ regularly. CVS is one of many companies looking to get the very best disinfection and decontamination technology applied to their properties. American Craftsman Restoration decided to make a major investment into the TOMI SteraMist™ almost 6 years ago. In that time, they have gained extensive practice and experience disinfecting all types of properties using SteraMist™ and its unique BIT™ solution.
Why is SteraMist™ different than the rest?
Some of the common disinfectants used are Lysol, Clorox, and Isopropyl Alcohol. These produce what is called a 3 Log kill, or 99.9% kill rate for viruses, bacteria, and spores. Some of these can also leave behind residual chemicals that can be harmful to humans and often require additional cleaning.
SteraMist™ produces a 6 Log kill, or 99.9999% kill rate for viruses, bacteria, and spores. It also leaves behind only Oxygen and water as byproducts. For these reasons alone it is clear why CVS is using this technology. American Craftsman Restoration is one of the few companies with this technology and is serving the Santa Clarita and Los Angeles area. Their technicians are on call 24/7 and depending on demand can often be onsite within 2 hours from the time of the call.
The method of disinfection requires that the premises be vacated during application and for approximately 60-120 minutes after application.
Here is some additional helpful information:
- The hospital-grade disinfection system we use is the TOMI® SteraMist™ system which has an EPA inactivation claim against norovirus. SteraMist™ is also registered for a 99.9999% kill on difficile spores and features efficacy of inactivating Influenza A and similar, enveloped viral threats, including coronavirus.
- American Craftsman Restoration is an Emergency Restoration/Response firm specializing in healthcare and bio-related issues. We have crews on call 24/7 and response time is dependent on demand. If there is not a high demand for service, response time is on average 1 – 2 hours onsite from the time of a call. If there is a high demand, service is prioritized based on urgency and risk to the health and safety of occupants.
- American Craftsman Restoration is applying an EPA registered Hospital Grade Disinfectant in a manner consistent with the label and EPA American Craftsman Restoration does not represent that structure and contents will be free of contamination such as viruses and bacteria. As doors open and close and individuals enter who might carry things such as viruses, bacteria or mold with them, the structure and contents might be contaminated after the service has been performed. It has been documented that asymptomatic people can carry viruses during the incubation period and there is no known way American Craftsman Restoration or client can know whether or not this has happened or will happen.
